Derrick Carter
Derrick Carter
One of the pioneers of House Electronica in Chicago, IL, USA in the 1990s. Used to work for Cajual Records.
Dinky
Dinky
Experimental techno producer Miss Dinky (Alejandra Iglesias) was born in Chile, but she moved to New York in the mid-'90s to continue her studies in dance. Shortly after arriving in the States, she became further enamored with dance music and eventually began DJing in the N.Y.C. club scene. (Dinky had long since become a techno fan and occasional DJ, having caught many a German act while still residing in Chile; also, an inspirational trip to Berlin prior to her move to the States proved to be a significant event.) She held a residency at the Flamingo East and spearheaded the Angels on Vinyl, a female DJ triumvirate based in New York City. Influenced by a wide number of sources, from Basic Channel and Christian Vogel to Carl Craig and Derrick May, Dinky's productions range from ambient home-listening to melodic dancefloor fodder.
Mary Yuzovskaya
Mary Yuzovskaya
Born in Moscow and currently based in Brooklyn, New York, Mary Yuzovskaya is a unique phenomenon in the scene. A ballerina with a classical background and a degree in piano performance, Mary has become a versatile electronic music DJ over a decade ago.

She graced the decks of all hotspots in the Moscow club scene and moved to Berlin in 2009 where she eventually established her identity as an electronic music artist. In 2013, she traveled to New York and lives here until now, inspired by the city’s endless energy and music-friendly environment, which she embraces every day working at Brooklyn’s most notorious record store - Halcyon.

Mary has been traveling the world playing a variety of genres, from atmospheric and dub to energetic techno bombs. She is a natural-born DJ, mixing vinyl with style, grace and lightness.
Beta Librae
Beta Librae
NYC via Kansas producer Beta Librae (aka Bailey Hoffman) dons neural lace under headphones and zones into a deep and vitalic stasis of acid and dub-tinged techno on debut "Swope Park".

These nine low key crushers loop with aquatic textures and loose, freeform sequencing, finding a particular energy between a familiar acid paradigm and broader frenetic sensations. A Slava performance was initial inspiration for the minimal set up itself, and Hoffman's imagination was sparked further while subletting a room in tropical/electronic band Lemonade's apartment and hearing them practice every day.

Hoffman's experiments are fluid and circular and come as a direct result of new experiments with a Korg Electribe. The endless possibilities of empty slots on a sampler are treated with classic cyborg ideals—viewing it as an extension of her brain that can be loaded with absolutely any sound, and of course fucking with it all with a very human hand.
