Odonis Odonis
Odonis Odonis
Toronto underground staple Odonis Odonis broke out in 2011 with their scrappy, blown out debut, Hollandaze. The dynamic trio instantly began turning heads with their haze filled live shows and unique combination of influences. On their Polaris Prize nominated follow up Hard Boiled Soft Boiled, Odonis Odonis masterfully crafted a sonically divergent record that pushed them into groundbreaking territory.

Odonis Odonis’ latest epic, Post Plague, delivers a powerful blend of industrial,
electronic and science fiction. OO’s post-apocalyptic anthems construct stark soundscapes and saturate them with layer upon layer of industrial grime. They do this with an enhanced sense of melody and willingness to push the boundaries of traditional pop structure.

Dean Tzenos’ vocals sit clear and upfront, delivered with a foreboding intensity that matches each song’s dystopian reality. Denholm Whale’s bass lays demolition charges nimbly sidestepped by Jarod Gibson’s futurist rhythms.

On Post Plague, Odonis Odonis delivers a hypnotic pulse that leaves a lasting impression. Post Plague forces us to realize what we are – vulnerable, frantic creatures yearning for authenticity.

Post Plague is being released by felte in June of 2016.
Public Memory
Public Memory
Public Memory is the solo project of Brooklyn’s Robert Toher, recorded over the course of a year as he lived in Los Angeles temporarily. Previously of the group ERAAS, Robert places a greater emphasis on electronics in this new project. Rhythm is at the forefront, with the tone informed by stripped down, narcotic impressions of krautrock, hypnotic percussion, and subtly layered atmospherics.

To call it minimal would, on the surface, seem appropriate. Wuthering Drum does not need an abundance of flashes and frills to illustrate its point, nor does it need smoke and mirrors to mask a lack of vision. However, repeated listens yield layers of tonal variations, textural nuance, and tastefully placed overdubs. The Korg MS-20 does the lion’s share of tonal work, but listen carefully to the percussion and try to see where electronic ends, organic begins, and vice-versa.

There is a slightly religious or spiritual element at Wuthering Drum'’s core; a sense of being in an existential crisis, while simultaneously being uplifted, in the face of change. The focus is on a kind of renewal, but not in the New Age, aggressively positive sense. This is the search for redemption in a far away place, away from comfort; it is adjustment to an inner dissonance, rather than the washing over of past fears and regrets with sterile holy waters.

Wuthering Drum was released in March of 2016.
ZGRT
ZGRT is the new musical project from New York City based songwriter/producer Zachery Allan Starkey, who has been a staple of Brooklyn's underground music scene for over half a decade. After releasing a trio of well received solo albums, Starkey founded ZGRT as a collaborative, live, synth based collective of likeminded musicians. Starkey produced ZGRT's acclaimed first single, HARD POWER, with Gavin Russom (LCD Soundsystem). The resulting work is a sonic testament to Starkey’s journey from a working class upbringing to participation in a broader world of club music on New York City's dance floors.

Recently, ZGRT toured with electro pioneers New Order on their 2016 US Music Complete Tour, including sold out shows at Radio City Music Hall in New York, and Tower Theater in Philadelphia. In addition to live shows, Starkey is completing work on a ZGRT album, which will combine his songwriting and production with considerable talents of the other members of the project.
Multiple Man (DJ)
Multiple Man is his industrial electronic project with his brother and will be DJing more industrial type stuff so that makes the most sense vs saying Nite Fields.
