Nosaj Thing
Nosaj Thing
It’s been three years since the release of Nosaj Thing’s highly acclaimed debut album, Drift, which topped countless Best Of Year Lists, but 2013 will mark a new chapter for the 27-year-old producer, musician and DJ from Los Angeles.

With a new album, label and imprint for Innovative Leisure, Home marks the first time Nosaj has incorporated guest vocalists. Having remixed and worked with the likes of The XX, Flying Lotus, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Beck & Kendrick Lamar, it was time to incorporate a few collaborations of his own with Toro y Moi and Kazu Makino (Blonde Redhead) providing ethereal vocals for two of the tracks on Home. The rest of the album is rounded with Nosaj’s signature cinematic soundscapes that explore the space from where Drift left off.
EL TOPO
Helmed by guitar/bass/synth /electronics experimenter and one half of duo DARKSIDE, Dave Harrington, EL TOPO takes in a multitude of influences and turns out a psychedelic swath equal parts Bitches Brew and Blues For Allah, Can and Sunn O))). Dedicated improvisers from diverse backgrounds converge in this ever-growing ensemble made up of 6-12 multi-instrumentalists and sonic scientists--at least 2 of which are always drummers--seeking out the dark corners and bright lights of the possibility of the moment. They are currently working on their debut full length album. From here on out, every show we roll dice. If you're not falling down, you're not trying hard enough. Featuring members of High Water, Arms, Friend Roulette, King Holiday, Matthew Dear Band, and more.
Archie Pelago
Archie Pelago is a production and live performance trio based in Brooklyn, NY. Formed in late 2010, the trio of Hirshi (trumpet/DJ), Cosmo D (cello/Ableton) and Kroba (sax/Ableton) combine their varied backgrounds in jazz and classical music with a common love for rhythm and the wide-open possibilities of electronic music. In the studio, the three produce collectively and prominently feature their instruments, lending deeply emotive patterns and textures to their tracks. On the stage, the group innovatively combines DJ-style performance with live playing and processing of their instruments, conjuring singular renditions of their original works as well as music that inspires them.

On September 24th, 2013, Archie Pelago released their latest EP, Hall of Human Origins on the Brooklyn-based Styles Upon Styles label. This follows their first two releases on their own label, Archie Pelago Music, the Sly Gazabo EP and the Breezy Whey / Backflight 12”, which received critical acclaim in Spin, Resident Advisor, DJMag, Tsugi and XLR8R, collectively. Their single Avocado Roller was featured on Pitchfork and was included on NPR’s Heavy Rotation series. Current radio support includes NPR, KCRW, KEXP, WFMU, WBAR, WNYU, Solid Steel, Mary Anne Hobbs, and Gilles Peterson. Current sponsorships include Ableton and Focusrite Novation.

Archie Pelago can currently be heard on Resident Advisor’s podcast #RA.370 and recently performed at the 10th anniversary of Decibel Festival in Seattle, WA. Look out for several new releases in 2014, including the Lakeside Obelisk EP and a full length collaborative record with Grenier.
Spectacal (HiFi Cartel)
Coming out of the shadows once again, HiFi's resident DJ of all trades returns after a fulfilling year of DJing alongside the likes of Braille, Daedelus, James Blake, Krystal Klear and Machinedrum.
