Xenia Rubinos (Record Release Show!)
Magic Trix by Brooklynite Xenia Rubinos might
cause an initial reaction like you are being tasered
(bro). There is little to compare to the sharp, thick
spine of a keyboard sound that shoots at you from the
very first moments. Surprisingly, the record's
aggressive sound is achieved without the use of
guitars. Xenia, together with drummer/sound magician
Marco Buccelli, create a dozen aggressively danceable
songs. An oblique assemblage of uncommon rhythms,
powerhouse vocals and dance-til-you-puke energy
combine to make Magic Trix one of the most exciting
debut albums in years.

Having toured the US nationally including official showcases at
SXSW, Xenia continues touring steadily in support of her
album release on Ba Da Bing Records. Xenia's music has been celebrated by fans and
critics alike with features in MTV, VICE, NPR, Fader, WNYC, The New Yorker.

"One of our favorite artists of the year, truly new and exciting!" - NPR
"Absurdist pop powered by soul-fueled vocals" - VICE
"Somehow she manages to always do weird s**t you weren't ready for, while making it a delight to listen to at the same time!"- MTV
"Standout act, a lo-fi, minimalist sound sometimes likened to Bjork."- Billboard Magazine
Railbird is the musical project of Sarah K. Pedinotti (S.K.P) a songwriter and bandleader who mixes pop forms and experimental textures with her evocative lyrics. Based in New York, S.K.P has spent most of her life imagining and constructing her own musical world. Supported by a solid cast of multi-instrumentalists, Railbird is characterized by a tight rhythm section supporting swirling, expansive guitar lines. In the center is S.K.P.'s unique voice and songwriting style, drawing comparisons to Bjork and Kate Bush.
Leapling began as the home recordings of singer/guitarist Dan Arnes. After enlisting drummer Yoni David, bassist R.J. Gordon and guitarist Joey Postiglione they released their debut EP Losing Face via Father/ Daughter Records, garnering comparisons to experimental pop luminaries like Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Broadcast and Here We Go Magic. A refined pastiche of groovy krautrock, pastoral pop and skewed art-rock, Losing Face has already been called one of the best of EPs of 2013.

Despite the relative newness of the project, Leapling has a long history in Brooklyn's DIY scene (their members are the hearts and minds behind Bushwick venue Big Snow Buffalo Lodge) and have already been sharing stages with Twin Sister, Total Slacker and Ava Luna. The quartet is currently at work on their full length debut.
