Psychic Twin
Psychic Twin
Two and a half years ago, Erin Fein began to pen a series of songs that would become the music of Psychic Twin. These songs emerged as intensely personal, nervously rhythmic, and indebted to the ‘80s new-wave of her youth. While recording by herself, doubling her vocals and singing ghostly counter-melodies, she was overcome with the surreal but persistent feeling that she was writing and recording with her twin. “In an ideal situation,” she says, “there would have been two of me singing and playing the music.”

Rather than a musical clone, Brett Sanderson provides a fluid backdrop, joining Fein’s new material with propulsive electronica and a shimmering synth-rock atmosphere. Lush synthesizer washes and incisive keyboard lines fade in and out over subtly persistent beats that begin simply, but reveal their complexity as songs take shape. The music is anchored by the bright melodicism inherent in Fein’s songwriting, as verses and choruses shift and expand over the course of a song. Psychic Twin makes pop music that is romantic and mysterious; infused with an ineffable longing for escape, for the unattainable, like the impossible desire to make music with one’s own double.
Suburban Living
Suburban Living
Suburban Living aka Wesley Bunch recently relocated to Philadelphia from Virginia Beach, VA. Bunch released the highly acclaimed EP, Copper's Dream in 2012, followed by the "Always Eyes" 7" single in 2013 on Dialog Records. In the past year, Suburban Living has toured frequently up and down the East Coast, and made appearances at CMJ, SXSW and multiple festival dates in Japan. After which Bunch returned to Virginia Beach to record his self-titled debut record at EarthSound Studios with good friend and engineer Mark Padgett. With the full-length album, Suburban Living enters a new saga with a refined "Dream Pop" sound - darker, with a more personal lyrical approach.
Peaer
Peaer
Performing with a rotating lineup of musicians, Peaer is an object set in motion, staying in motion. Songwriter Peter Katz (formerly of Fugue, Poverty Hollow, Suns) has an understanding of dynamics, amplitude, and melody as they interact as physical bodies, pushing, pulling, peaking and falling. Consequently, Peaer produces songs about communication as a force on a linguistic and kinetic level communication between individuals, between yourself and other self, between your heart and your brain.
Jacky Winter
My name is Jacky. It was March two years ago. Just like every Sunday morning I was cleaning a pub in Melbourne, Australia when I heard Wu-Tang Clan properly for the first time. It was really fucking loud, I was dusty and it screwed me loose. I became obsessed, listening to 36 Chambers, Only Built for Cuban Linx and Liquid Swords every day.

I bought a MPC, started making beats and invited my mates to come work in a way none of us ever had done cos we're all fanging guitar players. We learned to sample and sequence, making it up as we went along, writing songs like we always did, but in pieces. Forever cleaning the pubs I saved enough money to fly 6 times across the Pacific to New York City to work with producer Matt Verta-Ray (Jon Spencer Blues Explosion/Dirtbombs) in his analogue studio NY HED. People tell me it reminds them of the Dust Brothers production style, especially the early Beck records. I fucking love those guys, a brilliant compliment.

This is all exploration, doing whatever feel good, just pure music making. It’s sideways and it's dark and sometimes beautiful, that much I know. I wanted to show that to you.
Fern Mayo
Grim Streaker
Grim Streaker
Grim Streaker plays the kind of loud, fast, abrasive punk that emerged in L.A. and D.C. in the early-80s, mixed with a dose of the snotty, mid-tempo punk of late-70s New York and London. The band’s sound lies somewhere between that of the Adolescents, the Dead Boys, X-Ray Spex and Fugazi, with layers of guitar noise reminiscent of current bands like A Place to Bury Strangers, White Lung and METZ.

Singer Amelia Bushell, guitarists Dan Peskin and Micah Weisberg, bassist Bill Dvorak and drummer Piyal Basu formed the band in late 2016. Since then, the group has been making a name for itself in the venues and DIY spaces of Brooklyn, with live shows quickly becoming known for the wild stage antics of Bushell.

Grim Streaker released its first single, "Guts" in January, produced by Mike Kutchman (Parquet Courts, WALL, Sharon Van Etten). Stereogum calls the track "one of those introductions that arrives fully formed while still promising even more to come."
