Tanja aka Remove Hyphen
Sassy selections, with throbbing, lush bass and dazzling chords, Remove Hyphen crafts sets that are thoughtful and complex--creating a cathartic dance floor rich with sub-aquatic beats.

Remove Hyphen bought her first plane ticket to India. There she studied Tabla, traditional Indian drums, at a school in the southern jungles of Kerela. This initial adventure began a life long pursuit of creative self-determination that would lead to musical experiments in China with the Pipa, an ancient lute, to Spain where she sought a guitar making family of gypsies to craft a Flamenco guitar, and to Jamaica where her knowledge of stringed instruments led to jamming out Reggae skanks with Rastas on the beaches of Negril.

Remove Hyphen's understanding of sound has influenced her productions and track selections to reflect broad musical experiences. Dubby techno atmospheres alongside gorgeous chords combine to create the raw and the beautiful, satisfying the mind and the body. Her taste has led to a residency with Devotion and invitations to share music at a wide variety of events appealing to different crowds. This open spirit is reflected in her productions, which span genres: deep acid, industrial, electronica grooves to cocoon room techno; Remove Hyphen seeks to dismiss the things that separate people, using dance music as a tool for freedom.

Since his move to Brooklyn, Danny Taylor (aka “A Village Raid”) has been establishing himself as a solid backbeat to the rhythm of the night. Known for his steady appearances at several BK indie venues, and the ensuing packed dancefloors, Danny offers more than effortless mixes and indulgent selects. A visit to his soundcloud page is a glimpse into the lush compositions of his restless mind. Ethereal soundscapes and ambient percussion give his hour-long mixes a vibrancy that keep your ears at attention. Each mix is an album unto itself. In addition, his production offers a dynamic vacillation of tone and energy; his cinematic scores are journeys into long-untapped emotions. Tune in and get raided.
